What is the most money you'd ever spend on a concert ticket?
Ok, so to see U2 at Slane Castle in Ireland in 2001 I had to book through a tour company that only sold the concert tickets as a package deal that included airfare and hotel.
Does that count?! LOL
Would I do it again?! In a second!!
In recent years U2 have been smart enough to release or re-release new material just in time for Christmas Shopping!
This year is no different. U2 are re-releasing a Remastered Version of JOSHUA TREE. This Tuesday 11/20! It's on my wishlist, but not sure what version. SUPER DELUXE seems like the best bet!!! Heee heee! : )
These are some other November releases that made it under the Christmas tree in years past:
- Elevation 2001: Live From Boston.............Released on 11/23/01
- The Best of 1990-2000..............................Released on 11/12/02
- U2 Go Home: Live from Slane Castle..........Released on 11/18/03
- How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb...........Released on 11/22/04
- Vertigo 2005: Live from Chicago...............Released on 11/15/05
- U218 Singles................................................Released on 11/21/06
One can only hope that their next studio album is released in time for Christmas 2008!!!!
Listening to 'Where the Streets Have No Name' now off of the original Joshua Tree on iTunes..finishing laundry in the dryer and promising this is my last post for the day! (But it may be a record!!) : )
Show us a set list from a show you saw.

Opening Act(s): Festival lineup includes Relish, JJ72, Kelis, Coldplay, and Red Hot Chili Peppers
Main Set: Elevation, Beautiful Day, Until the End of the World, New Year's Day, Kite, A Sort of Homecoming, I Will Follow, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Wake Up Dead Man, Stuck in a Moment, In A Little While, Dancing in the Moonlight, Desire, Staring at the Sun, Bad / Yellow / 40, Where the Streets Have No Name, Mysterious Ways, Pride
Encore(s): Bullet the Blue Sky, With or Without You, One / When Will I See You Again, Walk On / Hallelujah
Comments: U2 plays the Slane Festival for the first time since opening for Thin Lizzy 20 years ago. 'A Sort of Homecoming' is an early surprise, and makes its first live appearance since June 27, 1987, when U2 played a homecoming show in Dublin's Croke Park. A snippet of Coldplay's 'Yellow' is included at during Bad. An image of Bob Hewson is shown on the screens during 'One' and Bono adds a bit of 'When Will I See You Again'.

No question it has to be 'Where the Streets have No Name' off of the Joshua Tree. Brings me back to 1987 every time. Whenever I hear the opening notes I still to this day get goosebumps! When U2 played it during the halftime of Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002 I was crying like a baby.
I think the best performance of it though was at Slane Castle.
