Some crazy person (me) made a dentist appointment for 9am. What??!! Too early!!! At least I didn't have any cavities!! : )
Worked out well though because my brother Rob and I went to the morning showing of 'Zombieland' ! Ooooooooooooooooooh what a great movie!!!! I don't know when the last time I laughed so much at a movie was! Plus, LOVE Woody Harrelson!!
After the movie I came home to get ready to go to my friend Geri's for daiquiri night! YUMMMMMMMMM! Getting ready really meant a power nap since I didn't have to be there until 6pm! Heee heeeeeee!!
Leslie and I hung out at Geri's having VERY strong strawberry daiquiris and pizza. I had to have an extra daiquiri for Geri. Her 13 month old nephew was spending the night and she didn't drink. Her nephew is adorable!!! Except the little guy did not want to go to sleep. I think I fall asleep faster than him! LOL!!!
Tonight U2 were playing in Raleigh, North Carolina. My west coast U2 friend is also a Carolina Hurricanes fan. He went for the weekend to see the Hurricanes home opener and to see U2 on Saturday night at Carter Finley Stadium. He texted me an awesome photo of the claw and of Muse on stage! I also got to hear 'No Line On the Horizon' and 'New Years Day' !
I was home and snoring by midnight!
It's rough getting old!!!
: )
Happy Friday!!! Today I got out of work at 1:00 instead of 4:30 as part of a compressed work week! Wooo hooooo!!
I made the most of my time. I went to my travel agent to finalize plans for my London trip next month!! Then I came home and sat outside with my Mom for a bit before I had to go to a hair appointment at 4:30.
At 7:00 I went to my friend Geri's for AWESOME strawberry daiquiris and great girl chat with her and our friend Leslie. Geri makes the BEST strawberry daiquiris with lots of yummy rum!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
I am ready for sleep now though! : )
On this day in 1888, Vincent van Gough cut off his left ear. In keeping with that spirit, what's the craziest thing you've ever done?
This one time, my friend Leslie and I slept out over night in Boston. In front of the Orpheum Theater. It was of course for a VERY important reason. U2 tickets at Sullivan Stadium.
This was before we had credit cards and knew what ticket brokers were. It was the 1980s and we were young, ready for adventure and a little foolish!
I can't believe we did that...but we did meet some fun people who taught us that if you threw beer cans at the rats they would go back into the sewers! LOL!!
Ok and looking at it...it's not REALLY crazy....but it is crazy for me! : )
Went to a funeral Mass this morning. The Mother of my friend/coworker passed away on Friday at the age of 76. I had gone to the wake Sunday night and she seemed to be doing all right. Today at the church she was NOT doing OK. I just wanted to let her cry as long as she wanted to.
I took my own Mom with me for moral support, plus she knows my friend and her hubby. We were both fine until the soloist sang 'Ave Maria.' That song gets to me every time!
When I was younger someone told me that you should make three wishes at every new church you visit. Not sure if this is true or not, but it is still something I remember to do...
Well !!! The whole day wasn't sad. Tonight we took Geri to dinner for her birthday!! : )
We had strawberry daiquiris with whipped cream! Mmmmmmmmmmm!!! This week is busy for her because it's her BD and her 16th Wedding Anniversary!! Wooooo Hooooooooo!!
I met the girls at Unos last night at 5:30 for dinner.
Julie and Geri were already there and had YUMMY pizza skins waiting for Les and I when we arrived. SO GOOD!
I think I may have took over the conversation just a bit with the Crush gift story...but i don't think they minded. There was lots of laughter...and even if it is laughing AT me...it's all good!
I got a very cool 'The Office' calendar! THANK YOU!!
Ugh! It's raining here. But, it is FRIDAY! TGIF!!!
I have my usual dinner plans with Mom tonight!
This weekend I have fun plans with Geri and Les on Saturday night! We are going to a surprise BD party!!!
I shouldn't have looked. But right now it is sunny and 92 degrees with a sun index of 10 in Aruba.
A week ago:
Ahhhhh from my warm and sunny balcony at the Westin!!
Saturday night was daiquiri night at Geri's with Jules and Leslie!! YUM!! Her daiquiris are very rum heavy....but that is a VERY good thing!
Somehow (LOL) the discussion came around to crushes. I thrilled the girls with silly details about Crush Monkey. I am sure there were some things they wish I didn't share but we all laughed a lot anyway!
Then we focused on Les and a crush of hers. I was trying to defend myself for doing something totally silly by saying 'At least I didn't bring in a fish!!!' LOL!!!
Then, something happened. Allegedly the fish was not remembered. In fact the giving of the fish was denied completely by Les!! Imagine my shock and horror. Could I have had too much rum and made up this fish story!?!? NO!
I went home and had a restless night sleep. The first thing I remembered when I woke up Sunday morning (at 8am) was that the person that the fish was given to named them after some Scituate fisherman. AHA!!!!!
The diary doesn't lie people!!!!!! I had to go back...way back in time to 1992 to find the entry...but there it was. Les gave her crush a fish!! LOL!!!
I may not remember everything, but if it's written down it'll never be forgotten!
Who are the people you've worked with over the years that you'd list as your Coworker Superstars? Why'd they make the cut?

This question made me giggle this morning! I will try to make a list, and I hope I don't forget anyone.
- The DB's. Especially Leslie and Geri because they are still my closest friends today. Thank god they were here way back in 1985!!
- HHS class of 1986 and 1987. That should cover all Hinghamites who worked here back in the day! LOL!! What an EXTREMELY fun bunch of kids!!!
- Kim Webb. My first supervisor here on the night shift. I learned alot from her. Also, man that girl could party! Imagine our surprise at a party at her house when she ended up in a bridesmaid dress! LOL!! I LOVED her!
- Mike M. Ahhhhhhhh what can I say here?! Still one of my favorites to this day! **SIGH**
- Carol M. She was my first lead before I was a lead. She knew EVERYTHING! Couldn't pull anything by her. She was so smart and organized! Came across as serious...but OH SO MUCH fun! We called her 'Mom M' because she was always watching out for us too!
- Cathy C. This lady retired recently after many years here. What a hard worker she was!! More importantly...she could and still does PARTY like we did when we were young!
- Chris LeBuffy. I think I learned the most from her during my last years in Lakeville. She took me from the 'retail' side to the 'catalog' side and made me a SuperStar right along with her!
- JoeB. Yes. JoeB makes the list. Especially the new and improved JoeB!! Who would've thought that I would CRY when I left him to come to this building?! (i did though!)
- DWH. The shoe guru. I have known her for all my years here. She knows her stuff inside and out. SUPER smart and super nice. Shares the knowledge that she has!
- Whatever. This girl rocks!!! Thank god she came to work here. WICKED SMART. Brings an element of coolness to the place.....AND she scrapbooks! woo hoooooo!
- Crush Monkey. Seriously. Did you think Crush wasn't going to be on the list?!!!! LOL!!! If you read my blog or know me you KNOW why he made the cut!
