When was the last time you received a hand-written letter in the mail? Who sent it?
Does a postcard count? I am going to say yes!
It was a postcard from my friend Brenda from Hawaii! She was there for TWO weeks! LUCKY!!!
What vacations would you most like to take in the next five years?

Excellent question!
- If I could go to Maine once a year I would be very happy! LOVE the clean air and Maine Lobster!
- Aruba. Would go back every year if I found the right airfare deal!!
- Hawaii. Was lucky to visit twice in 2006 and would love to eventually return!
- London. I know I am going next month, but I already know I want to go back!
- Ireland. Haven't been back since 2001. NEED another visit there!
I watched 'Blue Hawaii' with Mom tonight. Every time the movie is on she watches and gets misty eyed. It was one of the first movies my Mom saw with my Dad when they were dating. Awwwwwww!
The movie is filmed on Oahu and Kauai. My favorite scene is the wedding at the end filmed at Coco Palms resort on Kauai. The scenery is just gorgeous! Elvis and Joan Blackman look beautiful !
I visited Coco Palms on Kauai in December of 2006. I took a tour with a company called 'Movie Tours' and had to sign a waiver before stepping off the bus onto the property of Coco Palms. The hotel has been closed since hurricane Iniki hit in September of 1992 and hasn't been repaired even as of today.
It's sad because walking around the grounds I could tell it was an amazing place to stay!
The sign is even still there! I noticed it a few times in the movie tonight! I hope that the property eventually gets brought to it's original grandeur some day!!
Aloha!
Today is May 1rst. It's known as May Day, but it is also known as Lei Day in Hawaii!
I didn't know there were so many different types of leis until I visited Hawaii twice in 2006. The flowers they use are gorgeous!!
My first time arriving it was a thrill to get a lei right in the airport!! I wore it almost my whole first day in Oahu and then put it in the little fridge in my hotel room to keep it fresh!
I was told when you leave Hawaii you should bring home the Aloha spirit in the form of Kukui nut leis. So of course I brought home a few for me and some to share!
This is what they look like:
HAPPY LEI DAY!!!
If you could play on any golf course in the world, which one would you choose?
Sponsored by World Golf TourOk, so I don't golf. But, if I HAD to do it...it would be on Kauai.
In 2006 I was on a Movie Tour of Kauai and we were in Hanalei (Puff the Magic Dragon lived by the sea and frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Hanalei!) when I saw the Princeville Resort. The place is AMAZING and if I ever go back I am looking into staying there!
Show us the best gift you ever received.
I feel VERY lucky to have received many BEST gifts!
I can't just pick one!
So here goes:
This Monkey still makes me smile every time I look at it or see a photo of it! Deb gave it to me two years ago and I love it!
My brother Rob gave me the U2 iPod for Christmas in 2006. Truth be told he gave it to me a little early so I could take it on vacation with me!
My second trip to Hawaii (Bonolulu!) in 2006 might not have happened if it wasn't for my Mom!! Her thought process was that the trip was in December and my BD and Christmas are very close together! I cried when I found out what she did for me....
Like I said, I am very lucky! : )
