Happy Tuesday! Can't believe September is almost over!!!
Work has been kind've 'Mehhhhhh' these past two weeks. But, it's getting a bit better. I treated myself this morning to a large Dunkin Donuts hot chocolate even though it really wasn't chilly out! : )
Talking to the girls today. Trying to make a plan to get together this weekend for some rum and girl chat!
Last night and tonight I spoke with 2 people that got laid off from my company. They don't have jobs yet, but are in good spirits. I try to keep in touch, but sometimes time moves so fast. It was good to catch up though!
Lately when I get home from work I've been watching reruns of Grey's Anatomy. The one that was on tonight was 'I am a Tree' and it was interesting because it was from 2006 and the music was great!!! The episode had 'Open Your Eyes' by Snow Patrol and 'Crashing Down' by Mat Kearney. Double swoon!
Speaking of Mat Kearney...he is on tour right now! Sadly no Boston dates. BUT, one of his recent FaceBook status updates said 'I LOVE BOSTON'. Hope that means he is planning on visiting!!!
U2 news. The European 2010 presale dates are happening this week for some cities. Some of the dates are a YEAR away!!!! I have to start saving my pennies for 2010!!!!
Tonight U2 are playing at FedEx Field in Washington, DC. I read that the stadium is HUGE!!! Something shocking that I read tonight was that their tour has yet to turn a profit?? Hmmmmm! I bought tickets for SIX shows! I swear I tried to help!! LOL!!
Watched the new version of 90210 tonight. It's getting bad. But, somehow I can't turn the channel!
Oooh! Last thing is I just updated my iPhone. I am now able to send photos when I text message!! Wooo hoooo! Thank you Apple and AT&T !!!
This was the voice over at the end of the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. I had to watch it a second time to hear it because the first time I was sobbing....
Meredith's voice over: "Did you say it? I Love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life. Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then look around, drink it in cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."
It's a full day later and the episode is still bothering me. : (
I can't believe this may be the last time Grey's fans see George and Izzie alive.
I read that Shonda Rhimes (the head writer for Grey's) has gone into hiding and won't talk about the episode until the new season. I think she went into hiding for fear of running into any Grey's fans she pissed off with this ending. : (
Seriously. Couldn't George and Izzie have been written off the show without killing them both?!
Grey's Anatomy wrenches my heart every week, but I still watch. I love the characters and their storylines.
My new favorite character this season is Owen Hunt. He is a trauma surgeon who served in Iraq. He has deep mental scars but somehow allows himself to fall in love with Cristina. The scars get in the way of their relationship though and this week he can only say three word sentences to her. Not 'I Love You' but ones to take the place of those three words.
'Nice work today' and 'take care now' are two of them. The scene at the end tonight had me in tears.
What television show do you never miss?
- Gossip Girl
- One Tree Hill
- 90210
- Grey's Anatomy
- Ugly Betty
- The Office
Yes, I realize that is more than one show.....
Eric Stoltz is a guest star and his character William is a death row inmate which he plays eerily. He wants to show compassion by donating some of his organs to a dying child Jefferson. Through the episodes he was in he toys with Meredith and her emotions. She wants to help him die before he is executed, but right when he IS about to die he screams 'I don't want to die'....so he lives ...only to be executed. What's strange is that he asks Meredith to attend his execution and she does. She wanted to show compassion. It was heartwrenching.
The other storyline that was heartwrenching was the little boy Jefferson that was close to death while waiting for organs. His mother is played by Samantha Mathis and the scene towards the end where she is telling him it's OK for him to let go and be at peace while crying and kissing him had me bawling.
BUT, the chief in the meantime was asking a woman whose husband was brain dead to donate his organs. It was cold and callous and I couldn't believe he asked not once but twice. Those organs saved Jefferson.
The song at the end of the episode only induced more tears. It was Powderfinger's 'Drifting Further Away'
Ok, I usually love Grey's Anatomy. However one story line is driving me nuts!! WHY does Izzie still see Denny? How many seasons ago did he die now?! Don't get me wrong....i was upset when Denny passed away and I cried watching the episode.
But.....why? Why is he still there??!
Anyone?!
Finally. The return of Thursday night TV. I thought it was a joke when I read that ABC is calling this 'National Stay at Home Week' but I am on board....for at least Thursday night!
This rarely happens but there is too much TV that I actually want to see!!
Ugly Betty is on at 8pm, followed by two hours of Grey's Anatomy. In the middle of that though The Office is on at 9pm. Hopefully one of the twins will dvr The Office for me. If worse comes to worst Steve Jobs & Apple made peace with NBC so I could buy the episode on iTunes!
So, I will be sitting in front of the TV from at least 8pm to 11pm tomorrow night! LOL!
What T.V. series are you looking forward to starting back up in the fall?
1. The Office
2. Ugly Betty
3. Grey's Anatomy
4. The new 90210......LOL
Thursday night was the last night for new episodes of my favorite shows! Good thing i thoroughly enjoyed them because the summer lineup looks DISMAL !!!
Ugly Betty: Gio asks Betty to go to Rome (!!!) with her for a month and Henry asks Betty to marry him. Poor Betty is torn. What will she choose? In the end we don't know. She is leaving her family with a suitcase and has said she knows 'exactly what to do'....but what is it!? Where did she fly to!? Hmmm!
Grey's Anatomy: I have to say that the last half hour or so of the two hour finale was the best!! The chief goes back home to his wife, Cristina has her groove back and even teaches Lexie, George gets to retake his exam, Alex lets go of Rebecca and turns to Izzie.............and the ABSOLUTE BEST was Meredith and Derek!!
Here it is. My must see TV recap. Three hours of TV is too much!
Ugly Betty: Henry is gone!! (YAY!) Betty is sad though without him. She tries to keep busy at work and even gets an assignment writing an article. The first person she tells about it? GIO!! He kisses her when she goes to pick up lunch for the office! GO GIO!!!
The sweetest moment of the episode is at the end when Betty finally asks Gio to hang out and he says NO. Why??? Because he 'doesn't want to be the rebound guy' he wants to be 'THE guy' AWWWWWWWW!
Grey's Anatomy: This episode was called 'Losing My Mind' and it was a little crazy. Meredith and Derek's latest tumor patient Greta appears to be having romantic delusions about someone named Andre that she met on a cruise. Meredith wanted to move onto the surgery quickly thinking that he didn't exist and Derek of course believed in the romance and wanted to give him more time to show up if he did exist. The surgery went on and Andre didn't show up until Greta was out of surgery and in a coma.
WHY DO THEY MAKE ME CRY LIKE THAT??!!!
Then the voice over at the end. YIKES! 'Don't wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don't. In the face of all we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that makes us hold it together.'
The Office: YES!!!!! Some comic relief after crying during Grey's!!! Toby is really leaving? I guess so since the title of the episode was 'Goodbye Toby' and the theme was his going away party! I'll miss Toby!! Phyllis is planning the going away party and I clap my hands when Jim gives her money for fireworks!!! He is going to propose! Wahoooooooooooo!
Hmmm. But the proposal is foiled when Andy steals the spotlight and proposes to Angela in front of everyone and she says YES???!!!!
This was a great episode but with so many questions not answered! No Pam and Jim engagement? Is Pam really going to school in NY? Will this be during the summer and the season will start with her return?! Is Phyllis blinded from when she saw Angela and Dwight together in the office at the end of the episode?! LOL!!!!!!!!!!
