That's easy VOX!!! It looks like I LOVE Bono, London, Travel, U2 and the U2360 Tour!
Hmmm, it also looks like I may have written a little about the anti crush. Hmmph. : (

Have you seen this magazine in the stores yet?! I have NOT!!!
Last night we went to Target, Borders and Barnes & Noble looking for the Rolling Stone with U2 on the cover. Every time I saw the old issue with Megan Fox on the cover I screamed. I am SO not a fan of her now after her appearance on SNL last weekend. UGH!!!
When will this magazine come to the suburbs and make me happy?!!
This article made me smile this morning! It talks about how well the U2 fans behaved in Foxboro on Sunday 9/20 and Monday 9/21. I didn't think there would be chaos and would've been surprised if there was!
There was a HUGE police presence there both nights and all the fans I saw were in control. Shocking because there was A LOT of drinking! In the parking lot we parked in there were several beer pong tables and LOTS of beer flowing.
Anyway, it's always good to read about a positive outcome! The part about the residents complaining about the noise from the concert made me giggle. I guess they weren't fans!! : )
FOXBORO - Don't be surprised if you hear Police Chief Edward O'Leary humming "Beautiful Day" this week.
After spending two late nights at Gillette Stadium Sunday and Monday, overseeing security for the largest concert crowds since Gillette Stadium opened, O'Leary pronounced the recent performances by international mega-band U2 "overall, pretty successful."
His crowd estimates add up to about 130,000 U2 fans in town for the two nights, with a high of 66,577 for Sunday's concert. And his officers made just a total of 18 criminal arrests, with 10 the first night.
And, while the police also took 39 intoxicated concert-goers into protective custody on Sunday and 45 more on Monday night, O'Leary described the crowds as generally well-behaved.
"Considering the size of the crowd, the (low) number of custodies is pretty impressive," the chief said. State police agreed. They recorded no arrests either night, three protective custodies on Sunday and none at all on Monday night.
The biggest complaints came with the extra traffic both nights, notably northbound on Route 1 after the concerts ended. For some, it was an hour's trip, or more, from the stadium to the ramp for Interstate 95 in Walpole.
The lots weren't completely cleared until around 2 a.m., following the 11:15 p.m. end of Sunday's concert.
O'Leary also noted concert-goers arrived for both shows as late as 9 p.m., which caused some unexpected tie-ups.
Snarled traffic around town caused by football fans arriving as early as 1:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. Monday-night game on Sept. 14 prompted stadium officials to warn U2 fans not to show up before the 3 p.m. opening of the parking lots. Any early arrivals were shuttled into an isolated lot and told to wait until the regular parking was open.
Residents also voiced complaints about noise. The concert's unique round stage in the center of the field, with speakers in all directions, apparently allowed even the voice of lead singer Bono to be heard introducing songs up to a half-mile away.
Some living in Foxboro and Walpole reported it sounded as if Sunday's concert was right in their back yard.
The unusual stage design allowed concert promoters to sell more tickets, as U2 played in the center of the field and no sections had to be blocked off as is the case when the stage is set up in one endzone and seats behind are left unfilled.
But while 66,577 showed up for the opening concert, "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" remained just a U2 hit song, and was not a reality for police.
"It was a very mature crowd," said O'Leary of the star-studded audience that included celebrities such as Tom Cruise. "There were parents with their kids - a nice mix. They enjoyed the show and everything was positive." Even the lines to get wrist bands for seats were orderly, O'Leary said. "There was a lot of self-management with this crowd. There was none of the rowdiness of some past concerts."
A show I never watch, and will more than likely never watch again this season unless they have a great musical guest!
Sorry, but this show just isn't funny anymore!!!!! UGH!!!!!!!
BUT, it was worth it to watch because U2 performed THREE songs! WoooooHOOOOOO!!!
It was strange to see Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam on stage without the HUGE CLAW above them! It was also weird to hear Breathe without seeing the smoke and hearing 75,000+ people screaming with you!
Here's what they played: Breathe, Moment of Surrender and ended the show with Ultraviolet.
Bono had on his full Ultraviolet gear and even had the steering wheel microphone going!!!! It was AWESOME to see....until NBC cut it off at about 1:01am for infomercials.
I just read on U2.com that U2 also played With or Without You just for the studio audience! How cool THAT must've been!!!!
Monday 9/21/09 U2's second night at Gillette Stadium! I took the day off from work. Didn't want to be late coming in and have to leave early to go to the show, so I scheduled it off! Good thing too!!!
My brother and I left again at the same time around 3:30. There would be rush hour traffic to deal with and we wanted to be in Foxboro before that happened!
Our seats the second night were in section 130. Almost right below our Club seats the night before! My brother checking out our view
Have I mentioned that I love Snow Patrol ??!! I do! This is now the fourth time that I saw them open for U2 and they were great! Also, because it was their last night on tour with U2 the crew came on stage with them at one point. It was very cool to see!!!!!!!
So, every night U2 have been opening up with Breathe. Larry comes out first and then Adam and The Edge join him on stage and Bono is last. Well, tonight they all walked out together!! Then I knew it wasn't going to be Breathe. It wasn't....it was Magnificent!!! I LOVE Magnificent and thought it worked well as an opener. But, they dropped Breathe tonight....and I love that song too! LOL
They played 'Your Blue Room' again tonight. LOVE this song, but some people at the show took this moment to go get a drink. Their loss!
Have to say that the energy in the crowd and with the band seemed higher tonight!!!! I was soaking it all in because this is the last show this year that I will be seeing!!
This was the set list Monday night (from U2Tours)
Venue: Gillette Stadium Opening Act(s): Snow Patrol Main Set: Magnificent, No Line On The Horizon, Get On Your Boots, Mysterious Ways, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Elevation, Your Blue Room, Beautiful Day, Unknown Caller, Until the End of the World, Stay (Faraway, So Close), The Unforgettable Fire, City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo - Stories for Boys, I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (remix), Sunday Bloody Sunday, MLK, Walk On, One - Amazing Grace, Where the Streets Have No Name Encore(s): Ultraviolet, With or Without You, Moment of Surrender Comments: For the first time, U2 opens its set with a song other than Breathe. That song is dropped altogether, also a first. Bono sings a bit of 'Mofo' at the start of City of Blinding Lights. Vertigo includes a bit of 'Stories for Boys,' just like on the Vertigo Tour, and sees Bono wearing a pair of devils' horns. On Snow Patrol's final night of support, some of the U2 crew join them on stage to sing 'Shut Your Eyes' and give lead singer Gary Lightbody a white, feathered boa. Ashley Judd is at the show, as is NFL star Tom Brady.
Usually after each tour I rate the shows and put them in order of my personal preference. I know that sounds crazed but I do it! LOL
Right now though it would have to be Wembley 1 & 2, Chicago 1& 2 and then Boston 2 & 1.
After I let it sink in I rate the tour with previous ones. Hmmmmm! Where will 360 end up??!
More photos from 9/21
Sunday was a beautiful day in Chicago!! Even after getting back to my hotel after 1:30am I was VERY HAPPY! I called the concierge and somehow it ended up that I was going in a limo that night with her and her friends to Soldier Field. Outstanding customer service I say!! : )
When Bono said 'We've got new songs, we've got old songs, we've got songs we've never played before.' I knew it was going to be another spectacular night! Oooooooooooooooh and it was!!! U2 played 'Your Blue Room' a song that they have never played live before. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Here's what else they played on 9/13 (from U2tours):
Main Set: Breathe, No Line On The Horizon, Get On Your Boots, Magnificent, Beautiful Day, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Elevation, Your Blue Room, Unknown Caller, Until the End of the World, Stay (Faraway, So Close), The Unforgettable Fire, City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo, I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (remix), Sunday Bloody Sunday, MLK, Walk On, One - Amazing Grace, Where the Streets Have No Name Encore(s): Ultraviolet, With or Without You, Moment of Surrender Comments: U2 performs 'Your Blue Room,' a track from the Passengers album in 1995, for the first time. Astronauts from the Intl. Space Station recite the final, spoken words of the song (via pre-recorded video). Bono jogs around the circle with a young boy during Blinding Lights. Pride is dropped for the first time since August 28, 2001. One is played before Streets as part of a three-song medley, bridged by Bono singing 'Amazing Grace.' One includes the 'Hear us coming' coda. Bono sings a bit of 'Far Far Away' at the start of Beautiful Day. These are some of my photos from night two! I had a side view of the claw on night two
Love to hear the opening notes of Breathe
Because that means LARRY is on his way out!!
The boys
The Edge always rocks
I couldn't believe they played Your Blue Room
Bono needed a rest
This was right before he pulled a boy up to do a lap around the stage during COBL
Good night Chicago
Until Gillette Stadium! I will be in Foxboro on Sunday and Monday nights!! Only a 40 minute drive!!! : )
Soldier Field is huge!!!!! I met so many nice people at the show!! The crowd was so EXCITED for U2 opening their US tour in Chicago!!!
I LOVE hearing the new songs live! Especially Magnificent when Bono gives a little introduction then an 'Uhhhhhhhh' and goes into the 'Oohhhh ohh ohh oh' Swoooooooooooooooon! : )
The Streets, One, Bad combo gets me every time. Yes, I get teary eyed. Still. : )
According to U2Tours this was my setlist for 9/12/09:
Main Set: Breathe, No Line On The Horizon, Get On Your Boots, Magnificent, Beautiful Day, Elevation, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - Stand By Me, Stuck In A Moment, Unknown Caller, The Unforgettable Fire, City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo, I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (remix), Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride, MLK, Walk On - You'll Never Walk Alone, Where the Streets Have No Name, One, Bad Encore(s): Ultraviolet, With or Without You, Moment of Surrender Comments: The 2nd leg of U2 360 begins with a safe show that's very similar to earlier European concerts. Bono introduces the whole band before I Still Haven't Found, just like he used to do on the Elevation Tour. He sings a bit of 'Far Far Away' at the start of Beautiful Day, a bit of 'Oliver's Army' during Sunday Bloody Sunday, and adds a couple lines from 'Fool To Cry' and '40' at the end of Bad. Although the band rehearsed Your Blue Room and changes to One & Streets over the past couple nights, they're apparently not ready to play them yet. These are some of my favorite photos from that night: The Claw right before U2 come out. Huge crowd.
The Edge and Adam on the big screen
Bono on the steps
Bono grooving!
Where the Streets Have No Name
Purple Claw with huge crowd
Get out your cell phones
I didn't get a cab back to my hotel until after 1:30 in the morning, but it was ok. I was a very, very, very happy girl !!
I got to go back to Soldier Field the next night!! : )
Who knew that Elvis Costello had a tv show? I did not.
However, according to AtU2.com Bono and Edge were guests of the show and were interviewed by Mr. Costello. They also performed some great songs!!! Imagine being in the audience for this?!!
From Atu2:
U2 taped an edition of Spectacle Tuesday in Toronto. It's a music performance/interview program hosted by Elvis Costello that airs on the Sundance Channel, and typically involves Elvis and his band performing songs with his guests. The U2 appearance tonight -- which was actually just Bono and Edge -- stayed true to that format.
According to @U2 reader Jesse M., here's how it went down:
"Please" (just Elvis Costello and his band)
"Dirty Day" (ditto)
"Mysterious Ways" (ditto)
Elvis begins interview with Bono and Edge, but it's broken up by several performances:
"Stay" (Bono and Edge alone)
"Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad" (Bono, with Elvis' rhythm section)
"Alison" (the whole ensemble - Elvis and his band with Bono and Edge)
"Stuck In A Moment" (whole ensemble)
"Pump It Up/Get On Your Boots" (whole ensemble)
We need audio of this show ASAP!!!! : )
