What part of your childhood do you miss the most?
Submitted by Maretta.
- Going to the library and getting a pile of books and sitting outside reading all day!
- Getting up early and staying up late and not being tired.
- Not knowing or caring what other people think!
- Going to the beach until there was nobody left but us and staying in the water until it was time to leave.
- Most of all ... having two parents.

Hmmm. Going to post 8 random facts about myself. I will try:
1) I was the last one in my kindergarten class to learn how to tie my shoes. My Mom still has the gold cardboard shoe with my name on it that I finally received when I mastered the difficult task! LOL
2) Zippers and Escalators make me nervous. Zippers because I could never zip properly when I was young and always had button up coats because of it. Escalators because one time my rubber boot got caught in one at Sears. No damage to my foot but the boot was mangled.
3) I've worked for the same company for 23 years. (Whoa!!)
4) My Dad wanted to name me Deidre Ann when I was born, but my Mom named me Kathleen Elsa (her middle name too). She saved me from being a Dee Dee!!! Plus I have to very cool initials of KEG!!! : )
5) I met Anthony Edwards at the Williams Inn in Williamstown, MA when one of my friends was going to school there. He was in a play called 'Speed the Plow' at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. It was after his 'Top Gun' days...so of course the only thing I could come out with was "I cried when Goose died!" LOL
6) I have identical twin brothers. Growing up there were FIVE sets of twins on our street; including on either side of our house.
7) I am a scrapbooker and started in 2001. I love to take photos so it was easy to start!
8) I'm a huge U2 fan. I've been lucky to see them up and down the East Coast as well as in Hawaii, Ireland and England. Where will I see them next???!!!
Just read the most fabulous rumor on Bonophile's Vox!!!!
The new U2 album is due to be released on 11/18/08.
Hmm. That seems about right. Just in time for Christmas gift giving!
Hey! That's only FOUR months from today exactly. LOL!!!
WooooooHooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I've got a few books on my summer reading list! The books are in my cart on Amazon...but last night at Target I found two of them for LESS! Wooo Hoooo! I got 'The Beach House' and 'Chasing Harry Winston'.
I've been reading all of Phil Craig's Martha's Vineyard mystery books since the first one and I look forward to them every summer. Sadly this is his last one as he passed away. I will miss the adventures of J.W. Jackson and his family!
One of my favorite bookstores is in Tisbury on Martha's Vineyard. When I went to their website to read about local authors I found out that they had suffered a horrible fire on the Fourth of July. How VERY sad. I seriously hope they rebuild!
One day in Rome I decided I was done with group bus tours. I called a company that provided a driver and a sedan tour for as long as I wanted. It ended up being almost 5 hours and it was a great day!!!
First stop was the Colosseum! It was 9:30am and didn't seem that crowded yet! So far I had only driven by the Colosseum a few times so FINALLY I was going to get to go inside!
It is AMAZING to imagine all the gladiator contests that went on there and the crowds!!! In a way it was very peaceful on the inside. It was hushed. Maybe because there was no echoes or people were just so in awe of being there like I was!
I am so glad it was a beautiful day. The blue against the ancient building looks so cool !
Next stop for the day was the Forum. The architecture here was brilliant!!! What is left of all the columns and arches are beautiful ! In one spot it looked like they were still digging even!
I was standing right over these columns and thought it was a cool angle.
I think this view was the best...
That's it for my Roman adventure! I have over 400 photos that I had printed the day after I got home from a local camera shop. Yesterday I ordered some duplicates to share and scrapbook from Kodak since they were having a sale!
Until next time Italy......Ciao!!
What movies do you have memorized? Bonus points for sharing your favorite quote.

It has to be The Breakfast Club!!! I remember when visiting Geri's sister at school one night after drinking each one of us just kept going with all the quotes. The roomie at the time DID NOT appreciate our humor at all and I don't think we ever saw her again! LOL!!!!
Brian Johnson: Dear Mr. Vernon: We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But, we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But, what we found out is that each one of us is: a brain . .
Andrew Clark: And an athlete
Allison Reynolds: And a basket case
Claire Standish: A princess
John Bender: And a criminal.
Brian Johnson: Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club.
If you could leave notes for the future, what message would you have left in the past for today?

Also...don't stress over the small stuff and some day you will laugh at all this!
Oh! And when you least expect it people can still surprise you in good ways!
KEG goes to the Vatican!!
I think one of my favorite days in Rome was spent at The Vatican.
It was crowded, there was lots of security, but it was also very CLEAN !!
The Sistine Chapel was amazing to see even if it was crowded full of people!
Pretty amazing to be in St Peter's Basilica with all the beautiful works of art in there!
These are a few of my favorite photos from the day!
The Vatican gift shop is also where I did all of my shopping for my Mom!
